The Asavanant Continuing Education Center was established on
27th October 2004, by consensus of The Continuing Dental Education
Center (CDEC), The Dental Council, on behalf of the affiliated institute
under the supervision of the Faculty of Dentistry, Mahidol University.
The Center initially aimed at being a dental academic center and
provided dental training to both government and private dentists.
The Center later upgraded to the Institute of CDEC under The Dental
Council on 26nd May 2008.

With a strong intention to be a private institute carrying the mission
to share experiences and knowledge for substituting governmental
institute and advancing Thai dental strength, the Institute has moved
to a new office in May,2008. The new office comprises a large
conference room, which is well-equipped with a sound system, an
information system that enables the watching of dental operations via
video conference in the conference room. It also includes computer
software simulation fordental practice. At the end of 2008, the Institute
in collaboration with 3M Thailand Limited will have finished constructing
the laboratory performing Phantom Head to fulfill the training activities.
Up until October 2008, the Institute has successfully organised 38
training courses for 40 groups with 1,811 participants.
